Categories proper nouns

[edit]

@Saltmarsh, why does it give categories 'nouns'? I excpected 'proper nouns'. e.g. Παρασκευόπουλος ‑‑Sarri.greek  I 17:49, 22 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

O! I see. Category:Greek feminine nouns includes proper nouns too! Same thing happens with Category:Ancient Greek feminine nouns. Ok. But they are going to become super huge this way. I thought proper nouns had a separate category, under Nouns. updating @Erutuon ‑‑Sarri.greek  I 18:23, 22 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

Exactly like Template:el-noun

[edit]

Dear @Saltmarsh, shouldn't this be exactly like the Template:el-noun? with all its nice new features! (at the moment it lacks plurals, which is a problem). ‑‑Sarri.greek  I 16:27, 21 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

I don't see why not - perhaps {{el-noun}} could do double duty with an added parameter «proper=1». In 2023 maybe? — Saltmarsh🢃 06:29, 23 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Saltmarsh, may I revive the question? In whatever way you prefer. So that when I edit proper nouns (like names of people), I could add the plural. (Just did Γιώργος) Thank you so much. ‑‑Sarri.greek  I 16:36, 9 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Sarri.greek The original template was {{el-noun-proper}} (logic: 'proper' being a subdivision of 'noun') - so this template is not very old. I'll look over the next 24hrs :) — Saltmarsh🢃 18:48, 10 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Sarri.greek I have copied {{el-noun}} verbatim. I'll try to keep an eye out for any anomalies that this has introduced.
    Thanks for reminding me — Saltmarsh🢃 06:57, 11 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
Goodmorning @Saltmarsh! lovely, look at the Γιώργηδες at Γιώργος! ‑‑Sarri.greek  I 07:00, 11 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────── @Sarri.greek Good morning indeed — it's getting lighter. (Perhaps you remember the dark English winter mornings - if you were up in time!) I will update the documentation over the next day or two.   — Saltmarsh🢃 07:11, 11 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
