- @Chalk19: I don't know the intricacies of Greek orthography. Check if Αγκαντζανιάν is closer to Armenian [ɑʁɑd͡ʒɑnˈjɑn] or Russian [ɐɡəd͡ʐʐɐˈnʲan]. Also check the first names of people bearing the surname to see if they are Russified or Frenchified or native. Vahag (talk) 15:34, 9 November 2023 (UTC)

In some cases I have found evidence that a version in question comes from Russian; this has to do with people who migrated to Greece after the collapse of the Soviet Union, not those who came as refugees in the 1910s and the 1920s from the Ottoman Empire. BTW, do you know if -generally speaking- the Armenians who fled Turkey to save their lives after the Genocide, did they have any personal identification documents with them ? If yes, in what language ? In Ottoman Tukish, in French, in Armenian, in Russian, or what else ? Chalk19 (talk) 16:04, 9 November 2023 (UTC)
