"removed empty section"

[edit]

Hello. This edit seems to have removed a non-empty section. (A template on the page automatically creates references. These show up in the 'References' section, even if the code does not appear to be in that section.) I wonder if other edits may also have removed non-empty sections. Happy editing, Cnilep (talk) 03:43, 18 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Cnilep: I want to investigate this, but you linked to the bot's history page and not the exact edit. Do you remember which page was affected, or even just the name of the template? Thanks! JeffDoozan (talk) 11:31, 18 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
Sorry, I must have copied incorrectly. The entry is 女児‎, and the edit date was 00:24 18 November. I suspect that the template causing the problem is Template:ja-pron. Cnilep (talk) 01:58, 19 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Cnilep: Thank you, I re-added a References section to all of the affected Japanese pages containing {{ja-pron}} with the aff_ref paramater. Then I started to check all Japanese entries to see if there were other pages that use {{ja-pron}} and are missing a References section. I immediately encountered , which has {{ja-pron|かき|acc=2|acc_ref=DJR|y=k}} but doesn't generate anything in the References. My best guess is that it doesn't generate anything because it's (seemingly) improperly nested under a solitary Etymology section, but since I don't know much about Japanese entries, I gave up. The <references/> tag is for declaring where it should show up. Without it, they appear by default at the very bottom of the page. For 女児‎ this works, since Japanese is the only language there, and ==References== is also at the bottom, but for 垣, the references are under Vietnamese, directly under an {{rfdef|vi}}. Proper form is to always include <references/>. —Suzukaze-c (talk) 06:05, 20 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Suzukaze-c: Thank you for the great explanation! I've gone back and added a <references/> tag to the affected entries and I'll generate a proper References section with <references/> for any other Japanese pages using {{ja-pron}} with aff_ref JeffDoozan (talk) 17:54, 20 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

"fixed section title"

[edit]

Hello, there are various Japanese entries where AutoDooz is making mistaken edits like these changes in the 新しい (atarashii, new) entry.

The affected headers are L4, and are not POS: changing "Idioms" to "Idiom", and "Proverbs" to "Proverb". This is is equivalent to changing "Related terms" to "Related term" -- incorrect.

Could someone please update the bot to prevent these mistakes? ‑‑ Eiríkr Útlendi │Tala við mig 20:59, 24 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Eirikr: Thank you the explanation, I will fix the bot to prevent future mistakes and undo the mistakes it already made. JeffDoozan (talk) 22:24, 24 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
