unshade (third-person singular simple present unshades, present participle unshading, simple past and past participle unshaded)

  1. (transitive) To remove a shade from.
    • 1846, George Payne R. James, The step-mother: or, Evil doings:
      [] remember, Miles, not to unshade the lantern till we are close to the entrance of the cave.
    • 1859, Charles Dickens, A Tale of Two Cities:
      He leaned an elbow on her table, and covered his eyes with his hand. [] He unshaded his face after a little while, and spoke steadily.
  2. (graphical user interface, transitive) To restore a window from its shaded (collapsed) state.
