The biblical use of the word “tree” to signify the cross upon which Jesus was crucified is an integral part of Christian doctrine. It is not an obsolete term but a living testament to the central event of Christian faith. Therefore, labeling it “obsolete” undermines its continuing significance to practicing Christians. Also, change the Bible verse to a clearer full example. undo
